Saturday, August 2: Spin, Step and Dance Class with KTX Fitness (10:30 am at Gold’s Gym 1723 Ritchie Station Ct, Capitol Heights, MD 20743) - this isn’t your typical class! This special spin class combines music and on-bike dance moves for a very unique workout, followed by step and dance to keep the calories burning.

Saturday, August 9: Books & Brunch (12 pm at GWUL HQ 2901 14th St NW)- we’ll read and discuss The Let Them Theory, a book focused on reclaiming your peace and prioritizing your growth and happiness. Afterward we’ll head to brunch at Buddy’s.

Tuesday, August 12: Yogalates + Journaling with Kaya Eubanks (6:30 pm at Eaton Wellness 1201 K Street Northwest Washington, DC 20005) - combine the mindfulness of yoga with the emphasis of core strength from Pilates. At the close of class, you will be guided through 15-minutes of journaling prompts that offer time for reflection and connection.

Saturday, August 16: Food Pantry (10 am at GWUL HQ 2901 14th St NW) -The Thursday Network Food Pantry is dedicated to helping those in need by making sure our community members have a variety of food and household items to support their basic needs. Volunteers can donate items, assemble food packages, delivery packages or donate funds.

Saturday, August 23: Back 2 School Festival + National Day of Wellness (10 am at Second Baptist Church Southwest 5501 Silver Hill Road District Heights, MD 20747)- join Thursday Network alongside the Greater Washington Urban League for our annual Back 2 School Festival, which will also be a part of the NULYP National Day of Wellness. TN members and friends are encouraged to volunteer for the Health & Wellness Pavilion or the Mental & Emotional Wellness Pavilion.

Saturday, August 30: Roosevelt Island Trail Hike (10:30 am at George Washington Memorial Parkway meeting place)- we’ll close out the month with an energetic hike at a Roosevelt Island Trail led by TN board member Matthew Vaden.
