This Saturday, November 16, Thursday Network (the young professional affiliate of the Greater Washington Urban League) will host its first ever National Day of Empowerment Community Fest. The Community Fest will provide much-needed community services and enrichment activities, including social services assistance, fall activities for kids, educational and career aid, and presentations from Census spokespersons and recruiters to share valuable information about the importance of being counted in 2020. Refreshments will be available, as well as a raffle. The National Day of Empowerment (NDOE) is an annual signature event for National Urban League Young Professional chapters. This year, the theme is "Make Black Count: Building Equity for the Future," focused on educating communities on the census. 

The event Is free and open to the public with registration. Vendors are welcome to participate for a small fee. Please register via the registration tab.


Join us for a day of fall fun as we promote community empowerment! We’ll be providing resources & support for small businesses, recruitment for jobs, an exhibit of vendors, and fun activities for kids.

Founded in 1992, Thursday Network is comprised of over 200 young professionals committed to serving the Washington Metropolitan area through community programs and partnership that address the Empowerment Goals of the National Urban League. The mission of TN is to provide a forum for young adults, ages 21 – 40, to focus their energies on community service, professional development, and political involvement.
