Face Hunger™ is a hands-on simulation and discussion activity that raises awareness and understanding of hunger hosted by the Capital Area Food Bank.

It is estimated that 50.1 million Americans (14.9 percent of the U.S. population) live in food insecure households. This means that at some point during the year, household food consumption will be disrupted or reduced because the household lacks money or resources to obtain food. This is a simulation where participants will get a glimpse at what it is like to make decisions that a person living in food insecurity, or “very low food security,” would face.
